From the practice slope for beginners to the black slope with a 70 percent gradient: The Silvretta Arena has the right challenge for all skiers. Special endurance tests include: the racing pistes, the mogul slope and the no. 11 ski slope from the Greitspitze (2,872 m), which descends 11 km down to Ischgl (1,400 m). Depending on a skier’s level of conditioning, the popular Smugglers' Round lures skiers to Samnaun in GOLD (61.8 km!), SILVER or BRONZE. Jumpers and freestylers can conquer the fun park next to the Idalpe whilst off-piste fans are drawn to untracked deep-snow slopes.
Three high-performance feeder lifts (the Fimba, Pardatschgrat and Silvretta lifts) transport winter sports enthusiasts quickly, safely and comfortably to the Silvretta Arena. In addition to the gondolas, the chairlifts also boast the latest state of the art technology. For instance, the Velilleck lift, which was only opened in 2019/2020, features hoods and a top speed of 6 m/sec. The double-decker Twinliner between Ischgl and Samnaun is itself an experience.
The Silvretta Arena is rightly described as one of the most snow-secure regions in the Alps. Thanks to the ski resort’s altitude, the ski season in Ischgl lasts from the end of November to the beginning of May. In addition to Mother Nature, the most modern snowmaking equipment reliably ensures ‘white gold’ on the extensive pistes.
