Ischgl is situated in the western part of Tyrol in the region Landeck. It is located at 1.377 metres above sea level. Ischgl is the main village in the Paznaun valley and is embedded between the mountain range of the Silvretta and Verwall group. Ischgl has almost 1.600 inhabitants and over 10.600 guest beds.

What should you know about the Paznaun valley?
The Paznaun is 40 kilometres long and ends on the “Bieler Höhe”, the border to the federal province Vorarlberg. It extends from 900 to 1.800 metres sea level. The “Fluchthorn” is the highest mountain of the Paznaun valley.
How do you get to Ischgl?
When arriving from Germany you drive to the end of the A 7 motorway. Afterwards, you can drive over the Fernpass to Imst. From there, follow the signs to Landeck via the motorway A 12 to Landeck / Pians or alternatively via the B 171. At the end of Landeck, the B 188 leads you to Ischgl.
When arriving from Munich, follow the A 8 to Rosenheim, where you change to the A 93 and cross the border at Kiefersfelden. Then the motorway A 12 takes you to Landeck / Pians, from where you come to Ischgl via the B 171.
Also an arrival by train is possible. In this case, you travel to Landeck. From Landeck you can reach the Hotel Trofana Royal either by public bus (50 minutes) or by taxi transfer in about 35 minutes.
Innsbruck Kranebitten is the nearest international airport. It is about 100 kilometres away from the hotel. The airport can be reached in about 90 minutes by taxi transfer.

How is the weather in Ischgl?
The Paznaun valley is characterized by the climate of a central alpine high valley. This means that the climate is rather rough due to the altitude, but gets many hours of sunshine and thanks to the location is well protected from the heavy rainfall of the reservoirs. Are winter tires and snow chains necessary to drive to Ischgl?
If you spend your winter holiday with us in the Trofana Royal your car should be equipped with winter tyres for the journey to Ischgl, because from the 1st November till the 15th April a general winter tyre obligation applies in Austria. Since Ischgl is situated at an altitude of 1.400 metres above sea level, it is also advisable to carry snow chains to be prepared for all eventualities.
How big is the ski area in Ischgl?
The Silvretta Ski Arena has 239 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes, 45 modern lifts and cableways and 515 ha of slopes. So unlimited skiing fun is guaranteed. Boundless in Ischgl is not simply “missaid”, because the Ischgl ski area is linked to the Swiss ski resort Samnaun.

Is the Ischgl / Silvretta ski area snow guaranteed?
The Ischgl ski area extends from 1.400 metres to almost 2.900 metres above sea level and has a pronounced snow guarantee due to its altitude alone. Furthermore, 1.100 snow machines ensure that winter guests can ski from November to early May.
What can you do in Ischgl in summer?
Highlight events such as the Woman’s Summer Festival and the legendary Ironbike attract the visitors, but Ischgl is much more than this – mountain bikers, hikers and connoisseurs can experience a summer in the mountains which could barely be any more variety-packed. Endless single trails in front of an unspoilt mountain backdrop, versatile hiking routes for every fitness level and culinary highlights on the mountain and in the valley are waiting to be discovered.
Are the lifts also in operation in summer?
The Silvretta and Fimba cableways are also in operation in summer and transport guests from the valley up to over 2,300 m elevation. From there, the Flimjoch cable car takes you up to 2,757 metres, where you can then take the Flimsattelbahn cable car to Alp Trida. The Alp Trider Sattlebahn cableway also operates in summer. These lifts open up a wonderful hiking area high above Ischgl.
